"Seeing things through the eyes of a child or a beagle is always magical." This piece honors the lasting spirit of adventure and friendship. I wanted to mix the safe, familiar look of a comic page with the vast, unpredictable beauty of the great outdoors by putting Snoopy and Woodstock in a rough, watercolor setting.
The sky's bright, complicated use of purple and indigo shows how our minds can go anywhere. The ridge's deep brown color makes us feel at home and safe. The figures' rough, emotional lines show how much they love being touched. The planned mistakes show how messy and great it is to grow up.
This art is about the things that make us all the same in the end. No matter how high the mountains or how deep the woods are, we are never really lost as long as we have someone with us.
