I created this artwork of a blue jay because, when I was younger, I loved watching them from my house as they flew to the bird feeder for food. Those moments stuck with me—their bold colors, loud calls, and fearless behavior. Blue jays were some of the first animals that made me pay attention to nature and feel inspired to draw animals. Now, as an artist, I use the blue jay to connect back to those early memories and show how I’ve grown. It represents confidence, curiosity, and the courage to take up space—qualities I continue to develop in my own life and artwork.
