Cycles of Perception
Cycles of Perception
Digital Artwork
2012

"Nostalgia is not often a single, unchanging picture. It is a group of memories that change every time we look back.

Cycles of perception breaks down the famous shape of the Ferris wheel, which is a universal symbol of childhood wonder and cyclical time, into four different visual lenses. I am looking into how the context changes how we feel about a single subject by changing the texture, light, and color while keeping the same structural geometry.

Each quadrant represents a different "mood" of memory, from the warm, sun-drenched pink panel to the stark, architectural clarity of the grayscale. This work is a tribute to the mechanical beauty of the fairground, re imagined as a modern digital kaleidoscope. It asks the viewer, "Which version of the truth do you tend to believe?"
